Our Wines

Our range is composed of 3 labels. These 3 labels show the natural different characteristics of our vineyard. Clos Henri and Bel Echo are our terroir specific selection on the estate, while Petit Clos is a selection of the young vines of the estate coming from all the different soil types. All our wines are from 100% fruit from our estate.

Our Sauvignon Blanc style

We look for a restraint rather than a fruit forward style. We love the mineral characters we get on the estate, and the ripe fruit aromas we obtain. We aim to make a sauvignon that is fresh but also with a nice texture and volume in mouth. Our sauvignon blanc are aged on fine lees for several month to gain in complexity and texture.

Our Pinot Noir style

Although we admire the beautiful fruit Marlborough climate and our terroir provide, here again we look for elegance of the fruit and ripe balanced fruit as we don't want cooked or jammy aromas which tend to show either hot climate or overripe fruit. We love the fact that we obtain savoury and sometimes earthy characters in our pinot noir. We are careful on gentle extraction in order to make a feminine and supple pinot noir. It is a special joy for the Bourgeois family to make pinot noir in NZ.
